A Pregnant Darjeeling Jaunt

As things around our part of South Asia get hot and dry (as opposed to the "hot and sticky" we will experience starting in June), we took advantage of a sunny Saturday to make our way up to our favourite nearby R & R location, Darjeeling.

I mean, what could possibly go wrong taking your 33-week pregnant wife up to 7,000 feet of elevation? Swollen ankles are normal, right?

On the twisting, turning, all-too-often narrow road up to the top of the mountains, we usually wonder why we make this journey. Usually, we are just tourists visiting a freezing cold town, enjoying sitting by the fires and going to the zoo.

But during these warm months, when you wear as few clothes as culturally appropriate in most of South Asia, a person almost needs long sleeves as they take in Darjeeling...

The Pony Rides, although this time it was more like a horse, whose name was Raja ('King')...

The Beautiful Scenery...

And the crazy decor (our old friend Predator) and AWESOME Thai food at our favorite Thai restaurant this side of Thailand. And just compare how Rebekah has grown in just over 2 years! Who needs a mark on the wall when she can just hold her friend Predator's hand?!
