Although we flew out of New Orleans when we left the States, earlier we had one final tour of the city. We went to the World War 2 Museum as well as the Civil War Museum (formerly the Confederate Museum, which, though renamed, is still very pro-South in its content).
Although most of the WWII Museum was very sobering and even morbid in spots, to a two-year-old a little role play in the German bomb bunker provides great fun.
Much of Jefferson Davis's personal items are held in Memorial Hall, having been donated by his widow.
From Lee Circle (in case you never knew why it was called that, we give you the statue of Robert E. Lee)...
To the streetcars on St. Charles St., New Orleans will always hold a special place in our lives.
