Crabfest 2011: The Third Go-Around

For the 3rd July 4th Weekend in a row (each one of her life), we took Rebekah to the CrabFest in Bay St. Louis, MS, last month.

We started out in the stroller, but that did not last long. Rebekah is now big enough that more than food caught her eyes.

The rides were waiting for Rebekah, so she took a couple turns going round and round in the car.

She also had to ride with Kristie on the potato sack slide to comfort her mother, who appeared a bit scared going over the humps.

And by the end of the evening, she was still pushing around the stroller rather than riding in it. She never stops moving.

Oklahoma's Playgrounds, Railroads, and Pools

Three of Rebekah's biggest loves are playgrounds, pools, and trains. On Rebekah's travels through Oklahoma, she got to encounter all three. Checotah has a old train station, intact from the late 19th Century, and Rebekah loved climbing on the train (although the Depot Museum was not really captivating for her).

Plenty of kid-friendly parks are also located around Lake Eufaula.

And Grandpa Roberts set up a little pool that was utilized daily, sometimes multiple times, by Rebekah.

Oklahoma Relaxation

The good thing about rural Oklahoma, at least when you are looking for a little rest and relaxation, is that it is not hard to avoid crowds and malls.

Rebekah learned that she could just hang out with Grandma and color,

Watch Grandpa weed the herb garden while still in pajamas,

Or just lounge in the hundred degree weather for a few minutes, working on her tan.
