A Pirate's Life

At Rebekah's age, we don't have to do much to help grow her imagination. Taking her to neat places such as the historically based, pirate-themed Children's Reading Room at the newly reopened library in Waveland, MS, only fills her sponge-mind with new material for her playtimes.

She is obsessed with beads anyway, so the treasure chest filled with plastic coins and beads drew her attention, although she was dismayed that they were glued into the treasure chests.

So Rebekah just played with the stuffed iguana, climbing in and out of empty treasure chests and playing peek-a-boo in the holes in the stranded pirate ship.

  1. Sam LOVED the pirate ship when we were there at Thanksgiving. I also have the same pic of Sam looking out the hole in the boat. That is such a cool library and I wish more libraries would do stuff like that! I am glad Rebekah enjoyed it. One day... our kiddos will get to play together- maybe in the pirate ship! :)
