Rebekah has experienced football on several occasions, but we wanted her to develop a more rounded appreciation of sports.

When we first got her cheerleader skirt on, however, she kept saying how excited she was to go to see the football players. She has watched basketball on television, so she knows what it is, but wasn't too excited about the game when we first arrived.

She preferred walking up and down the steps, watching other kids, and (of course) searching for Seymour, USM's mascot.

She actually wasn't afraid of Seymour, giving him a high-five and gladly taking a picture with him.

She eventually focused on the game, cheering the Golden Eagles on to victory.

For some reason, children (and college students) are just drawn to Yo Gabba Gabba!, a show that--if you can get past your initial shock and revulsion--actually has a lot of great lessons for toddlers and children.

The "little green one" from Yo Gabba Gabba!, who is a little slow compared to his playmates (they see to always be singing the "Keep Trying" song to him) is Brobee.

Grandma and Grandpa Roberts got Rebekah a Brobee doll for Christmas, and he's quickly risen up the ranks of Rebekah's favorite things, meaning he's pretty irreplaceable now.

They play together.

They wrestle.

Rebekah is determined to potty train him.

And at nap time, he's always right there with her.

A Pirate's Life

At Rebekah's age, we don't have to do much to help grow her imagination. Taking her to neat places such as the historically based, pirate-themed Children's Reading Room at the newly reopened library in Waveland, MS, only fills her sponge-mind with new material for her playtimes.

She is obsessed with beads anyway, so the treasure chest filled with plastic coins and beads drew her attention, although she was dismayed that they were glued into the treasure chests.

So Rebekah just played with the stuffed iguana, climbing in and out of empty treasure chests and playing peek-a-boo in the holes in the stranded pirate ship.

Funny Faces

Rebekah decided at breakfast a few weeks ago to show off some of her funny faces. She has a lot more of them, but here are the ones she showed off that morning.

***Disclaimer: We rarely feed her while topless, but sometimes it just happens.***
