Another Zoo Post

The summer is coming, and Rebekah is ready to go to the zoo whenever we make the offer. YellowBook provided the Hattiesburg Zoo w/ these neat cut-outs below.

As Rebekah becomes more aware of everything around her (please watch what you say around our chatty baby), it's fun to watch her react to things she perhaps formerly noticed, but never reacted to. Now, Rebekah notices EVERYTHING!!!

Who Needs a Boy

We're not sure why, but Rebekah has turned into quite the daredevil. James suspects it has something to do with the fact that she always pulls Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome from our DVD rack. But our thoughts that our lives would be all makeup and hair bows with a little girl were quite mistaken.

(No Children Were Harmed in the Making of This Video, and we hope no Grandmothers' hearts skipped a beat while watching it.)

Waking Up Is Hard to Do

Rebekah is a great mixture of her parents, but apparently one characteristic she has gotten from Kristie is the rate of waking up from a deep sleep. We wanted to show you a video of her waking up, but probably would have been 10-15 minutes long, so we've posted these various poses taken during a recent groggy afternoon.

Rebekah and the Bear (4/6/10)

One-Year Stats

Well, 13-Month Stats anyway. Our doctors needed their Spring Break too, so we had to wait until today to get Rebekah measured up, poked, and shot with her most recent vaccinations.

  • Weight: 18 lbs. 5.5 oz (5th Percentile--still hanging on the growth chart)
  • Length: 28.5 inches (25th Percentile)
  • Head: 18 inches (75th Percentile--as at our 9-month check-up, I ask you to please quit laughing). The large head is wholly her father's fault (and he proudly admits that fact), and we hope by the second birthday to have hair!

Rebekah is walking (and sometimes falling), babbling, and just exuding cheerfulness constantly.
