Rebekah and the Bear (8/26/09)

Time for School!

Rebekah is now attending the "school" at our church two days per week, although teaching much substance to a roomful of crying 6-month olds may be a little difficult. She was so excited she crawled right into the backpack--perhaps she felt all comfy inside like she does in her swaddle at night. Needless to say, she looked as funny in the backpack as she does elsewhere.

Breaking Free from the Backpack

Rebekah turns 6 months old next Wednesday, so check back for her stats to find out if she's grown at all.

Rebekah and Friends

On our recent trip to Tupelo, Rebekah met up with some of her girlfriends and hung out for a while. Of course no boys were allowed, as Rebekah can't have a boyfriend until she's 21.

Brookelyn is a bit older than Rebekah, but we know she's a good influence on her... as long as Brookelyn doesn't emulate her father too much, but only her mother!

Grace is Rebekah's Yankee friend, and although exactly two months older than Rebekah, she has about 1,000 times more hair. You can certainly tell she's a girl.

Rebekah and the Bear (8/19/09)

As we search for pieces of Rebekah's world maybe we haven't posted on the blog, we realized that the awesome glider we got for $90 had never been shown. Although she fights taking any naps at all, when she's tired, the glider works its magic and finishes Rebekah off.

Rebekah and the Bear (8/12/09)

Rebekah is actually filling out some of her clothes now, which we think makes her look bigger (Note to Family Members--she has plenty of larger clothes also, so don't go out of your way to buy her more). Along with her increasing chunkiness, Rebekah works out her vocal cords almost constantly, and we even think she's making intelligible sounds sometimes. She is a handful!

Summer Fun #6: The Zoo

"A zoo? In Hattiesburg?"

We know it is unbelievable that little ol' Hattiesburg has a zoo, but it does, and for the price of admission, it's really not too bad. We have a family membership (our way of boosting the local economy) so last weekend was actually Rebekah's 4TH Trip to the zoo, although it was the first trip during which Rebekah was aware of more animals than just the goldfish and prairie dogs.

(With her favorites, the smelly prairie dogs)

(Rebekah hated to leave)

Rebekah and the Bear (8/5/09)

5 MONTHS OLD!

Last Sunday Rebekah turned 5 Months Old. (Sure, every parent says it, but...) We can't believe how quickly this screaming little baby turned into a 13-pound flirt, but time rolls on.

Although we will continue to post at least weekly after August, we'll only use the ginormous bear monthly so you can chart Rebekah's growth. We tried to get her to sit nicely with the Bear, but she couldn't resist a wrestling bout with her nemesis.
